Die Macher von 5 Star Wrestling haben auf Facebook ein kleines Q & A veranstaltet. Hier die fünf am häufigsten gestellten Fragen:
Question 1: When's the game coming out?
Answer 1: We'll be announcing a release date asap but for now, all I can say is that the game is "Feature Complete" and we're in the final stages of testing.
Question 2: Any plans to release 5 Star Wrestling on other platforms?
Answer 2: Not at this time. As most of you know, our goal is to vastly expand upon 5 Star Wrestling once the game is released. That would be hard for us to do, if half of the team were working on different platforms.
Question 3: What's the game going to cost?
Answer 3: We'll be announcing the price at the same time as the release date but given the amount of moves and features, I guarantee it will be value for money.
Question 4: Will there be any create modes?
Answer 4: Not at launch, but if enough people really want a feature, we'll do our best to add it post launch.
Question 5: Will the be a demo?
Answer 5: No.
Question 6: What's the average match time
Answer 6: It depends how good you are and which characters are in the match but we're aiming for between 5 and 8 minutes when playing the AI. I've had some pretty epic 20+ minute matches though, where I just couldn't put the guy away. Jonny Miavia can be a stubborn S.O.B when he doesn't want to lose.
Question 7: How often will DLC come out and will the expansions be free or cost money
Answer 7: Our goal is to make it as frequent as possible. With Wrestling Manager we had 8 updates in a year which felt like a good number but it all depends on what we're adding. Create-A-Wrestler would take a lot longer than a new match type, a new match type would take a lot longer than new costumes, etc.
If you have a question you'd like answering tonight, leave it in the comments and we'll get through as many as we can.
Question 8: Will taking out the opponents' legs completely disable lift up moves?
Answer 8: Not completely. The move fail system takes into account your leg health, momentum and stamina. If all those things are low, there’s a higher chance that your “Lift Up Moves” will fail. We have various features in the game that allow you to get back in to the fight though. For example, limbs will heal a little over time if they are not attacked and players can trigger a momentum swing if they have taken a lot of damage, allowing them to mount fast come backs.
We want players to feel vulnerable in the match if their legs have been taken out but we also want them to feel great satisfaction when they fight on and overcome their struggle. Nothing achieves this more than when you’re using a guy like Ragnabrök with an injured leg but you manage to execute the powerful version of your finishing move and get the win.
It's also a great moment if you finally pull that finisher off, but it triggers a tired finisher because then you have that mark out moment of achieving your goal followed by a tense moment where you're both down and you're trying to capitalise on what you've done. That's the kind of in ring story telling we want you to experience when you play 5 Star Wrestling.
Question 9: How Many Finishers Does Each Wrestler Have?
Answer 9: Each wrestler has a different number of finishing moves.
Ragnabrök The Conqueror has 1 finisher (The End Is Nigh) but he can hit 7 versions of it as well as a reversal version of it, out of Mike Icebergs's "Titanic Slam".
Curtis Angel has 2 finishing moves (The Uncle Slam and the Ankle Lock). He can hit 13 versions of the Uncle Slam and 3 versions of the Ankle Lock as well as several finishing move reversals.
There's over 120 variations of finishing moves in the game shared between 8 characters.
Question 10: How does the reversal system work?
Answer 10: Each move has it's own reversal window. If the defending player presses R2 during the window they will reverse the move.
Some moves naturally have bigger reversal windows than others but if the defending player has low momentum, the reversal window will be smaller than if they have high momentum.
If you have been taking a beating for a while, you will get to a point where you are ready to trigger a Momentum Swing. At that point, the reversal window for every move thrown at you will be set to maximum, making it easier for you to make your comeback.
Early on in the match the AI will be more likely to reverse certain types of moves than others. It won't be impossible to hit a Powerbomb as your first move but the AI will be more inclined to reverse that than say a Drop Toe Hold attempt.
